Teaching Sensorial Games through Applied Behavior Analysis
Many persons diagnosed with autism have a lack of processing sensorial information that manifests by exaggerated reactions to environmental stimuli (e.g.The ears are covered upon hearing a noise, the neon light irritates them).
Every human sense – taste, touch, smell, sight, hearing – provides us with information about the environment. The brain reorganizes all of these pieces of information and gives meaning to whatever surrounds us through appropriate responses. For this reason, it is important to teach our children strategies that can help them adapt to the environment. This would be the purpose of this workshop.
