Antecedent Interventions in Working with Children – Recent Literature
The presentation aims to review some of the recent studies about antecedent interventions and to address the applicability of the new data.
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is often associated with only consequence-based interventions (example: reinforcement). However, antecedent interventions belong to the field of ABA as much as the others. The discussion about effective antecedent interventions can have practical implications for professionals, as well as for parents – they will have the opportunity to review the antecedent interventions they are already applying and to discover new procedures that could be helpful for children.
